Job Description:

With the corroboration of Pharmacy Operations and Clinical Staff, the Specialist – Pharmacy Systems will make decisions involving medication and pharmacy related technology and systems. These decisions will directly impact patient care and the operations of the Pharmacy department; for that reason, a very strong working relationship will be needed between this position and Pharmacy Staff to ensure the highest level of patient safety and optimal efficiency within Pharmacy operations.

Job Responsibilities:

• Plans, facilitates, and evaluates improvements. Works closely with the clinicians including physicians, departmental leadership, Patient Safety & Quality, Information Technology, and Accreditation or Licensure departments to strategically select design, implement and guide the use of technology to ensure optimal care delivery processes.
• Identifies educational needs and collaborates to design and implement end user education.
  Works closely with the pharmacy applications team to articulate effectively how new technology will impact current processes and procedures for the organization
• Keeps management well informed of activities, needs, and risks.
• Participates in strategic and tactical planning for the Pharmacy department to optimize and enable best clinical practice and optimal business and financial outcomes.

Job Requirements:

• Ability to provide clinical review for projects to ensure a high level of usability of system functionality is achieved.
• Professional demeanor with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with Executives, Physicians, Vendors, Pharmacists and all other clinical and IT personnel.

Qualification & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized college of pharmacy
• Experienced with JCI accreditation and MoPH licensing procedures
• Master’s Degree of Business administration from a recognized college
